History of Project Jericho

In 1960 Hanna Ministries was formed by Rev. Travis Hanna.

Travis's son, Thomas Reed Hanna, was a Federal correctional officer, who later became a federal marshal. While a federal marshal, Reed received a civil rights violation and sentenced to spend a year in a federal prison. While in prison, Reed witnessed the effects his prison life had on his wife and kids who were left behind and suddenly had to fend for themselves.  As a result, Reed founded Project Jericho - a non profit organization - to help lessen the impact on the family left behind when they were experiencing a family member being incarcerated.  Reed has a desire to stand beside affected families, share his personal experiences, and provide assistance to try to help the family maintain their "normal life" while a loved one is away.

In 2004, Reed was looking for ways to better organize and expand his ministry.  That's when God brought Steve Ficher into the picture to join him.  They both have the same burning desire to serve and help families left behind due to an incarceration.  They both believe that the children are the ones hit the hardest and need immediate attention and support.

Together, God is using  them to reach families every day.

Is God calling you to help?
